The Solid Waste Collection Bylaw states that commercial and residential garbage is required to be picked up once per week.
Residential garbage pick-up is every Friday morning, starting at 8:00 AM.

The Public Works crew begins clearing snow once it is 10cm (4 inches) deep. Essential routes are scheduled to be cleared first, and the crew is alloted 96 hours to clear non-essential routes. A quick fact sheet on snow removal in McBride is available here.

The Village's four-cell sewer system is one of the first environmentally friendly, non-chemical systems in North America. The site operates on biological purification, relying on a variety of plant species within the cells, and filtering into adjacent wetlands and tree lots to completely purify the waste.

BC Hydro supplies electric power to the Robson Valley. BC Hydro has three back-up diesel generators that create reliable, consistent power to residents and businesses in and near McBride.
Castle Mountain Hydro has completed a 8 MW run-of-river generator that will expand on the available 3-phase power available in the Robson Valley. See an interesting news release from BC Hydro on the topic here.
