Request for Proposals - Municipal Signage & Design Strategy

The Village of McBride invites qualified and experienced firms to prepare a comprehensive municipal signage strategy, establish a cohesive design framework, and produce detailed sign designs for implementation. Existing signage in and around McBride is varied in style, age, purpose, and placement, spanning highway billboards, community entrance signs, wayfinding and directional signs, parks and recreation signage, facility identification, and commercial and amenity signs. 

The Village aims to standardize wayfinding signage design and adjust existing sign locations to improve consistency and optimize visibility. These updates will enhance wayfinding and support visitor, investor, workforce, and resident attraction efforts, while also strengthening community pride and brand recognition. 

This project represents the next steps for the Village in its journey towards the creation of a diversified and resilient economy in McBride. The Project builds on work-in-progress to grow the tourism sector, including marketing campaign branding and launch of a new visitor website and new social media channels, funding for accessibility improvements at McBride's Visitor Information Centre, funding for tourism capacity building, and securing the Municipal and Regional District Tax to support community marketing and promotion.
